Meet Our Team!
As a participation group defined by and comprised of young people, we believe it’s important to shine a spotlight on each and every member of our YA team who makes our work possible. Every one of the young people on our team has something different that makes them, them! From expertise to lived experience, each of our Young Advisors have something special and wonderful to offer.

Jasmin
YA Lead
I’m Jasmin and I am the lead for the Midlands Young Advisors. I had the pleasure of working with the team back in 2018 where we devised the first ever Let’s Get Mental Conference. It’s great to see all the team has achieved since then and the great work they are doing now. As the YA lead, I support the team to work towards their vision and organise our work commitments.

Megan
Senior YA
Hi, I’m Megan. As one of the team’s Senior Young Advisors, I’ve taken the lead in managing our social media presence. I’ve been part of this incredible team since 2020, driven by my own battles with anxiety and depression. While I call Leicestershire home, I’m currently pursuing my PhD at the University of Birmingham, so you’ll often find me juggling between these two locations and beyond!

Michelle
Young advisor
Hi, I’m Michelle. I take the lead with many of our team’s creative endeavours while also engaging in our vital work within CYP mental health participation. Having recently graduated from the University of Nottingham in American and Canadian Studies, I dedicate all of my spirit to our team. Knowing my own and hearing others pour out their lived experience motivates me in this role.

Winter
Young advisor
Hi, I’m Winter. I joined the Young Advisors in 2022, after struggling with anxiety, depression, other mental health conditions, and grappling with my new diagnosis of autism earlier that year. I am currently at university, studying to be a paramedic, and, out of passion to be a part of the system that let me down when I needed it, I decided to join the Young Advisors alongside my studies.

Annalise
Young advisor
Hi! I’m Annalise and I’ve been a part of the team since 2023. I joined the Young Advisors as I wanted to make a difference and give back to the community that I had used. It’s such an important role to be in, and I love every day being part of a team of like-minded people who want to improve services for future people in need.

Tobias
Young advisor
Hi, I am Tobias, I have been a Young Advisor since 2024 and am also a medical student. As part of the team, I get involved with a bit of everything, I am currently doing my leadership qualification as well as delivering teaching and creating social media posts. My favourite part is delivering teaching, speaking and supporting services.

MEL
SENIOR YA
Hi, I’m Mel. I’m one of the Senior Young Advisors, helping to take a lead during meetings, events, and supporting our Young Advisors when they are completing work.
My passion around mental health came about after my own personal battles struggling with my mental health and being admitted to a CAMHS inpatient unit. I had both positive and negative experiences with child and adolescents mental health services which gave me the desire to make a positive change so future patients will not go through the suffering and dismissal I went through.

Leela
Young advisor
Hi, I’m Leela. I joined the Young Advisors in 2022 because I want to improve mental health support for young people, and joining the team was an excellent opportunity to get involved in work that makes positive changes to real people’s lives.
